Our Eumundi sun farm is a 30kw pv system situated high in the Noosa hinterland, on the top of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia. It was commissioned by the Bush Tucker Farm Trust on behalf of hinternoosa.com.au. View our online monitoring system with solar power plant overview and output metering.
Hinternoosa’s goal with commissioning this solar farm is to reduce our carbon footprint, it’s our view that the solar farm will provide enough energy for 15 homes and that together with our farm forestry plantation will reduce the carbon footprint of our business and our employees to below zero.
hinternoosa.com.au is a specialist marketer of prestige homes on small acreage and acreage land in the Sunshine Coast and Gympie hinterland, consequently most of our buyers and sellers are looking to live the ‘green dream’ and likewise most people aspire to reduce their footprint on the planet as much as practicable.

Cooroy is a bustling friendly township in the heart of the Noosa hinterland, ideally located amongst rolling green hills and mountains. (see a detailed map here). Just west of town, Ridgewood, Tuchekoi and Traveston are popular with those people looking for wide open space for farming or simply to soak up the silence and enjoy the peace.
Easy access to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Airports by rail or bus. Residents choose to do the majority of their weekly shopping in the Cooroy village due to the ease of parking and wide cross section of retail outlets and professional services available.

With its lush pastures running to the shores of the Mary River, this area typically provides larger land parcels from 10 acres to in excess of 100ac in size. The region has matured in recent times and its strong community identity within the Sunshine Coast Regional Council has seen it emerge as a flourishing farming and lifestyle community that continues to attract newcomers.
Nov 2009 Environment Minister Peter Garrett made a decision to reject the Traveston Crossing Dam project, after deciding the impacts on threatened species would be too great. Read the Peter Garrett media release. (PDF)
“After carefully considering all the information put before me and advice from my Department, it is very clear to me that the Traveston Crossing Dam cannot go ahead without unacceptable impacts on matters of national environmental significance,” Mr Garrett said. ”I have based my proposed decision on the science presented to me, and the science shows that this project would have serious and irreversible effects on nationally listed species such as the Australian lungfish, the Mary River turtle, and the Mary River cod.

“The area that would be flooded by this proposal is critical habitat for populations of these species. The evidence before me showed that flooding this habitat would have serious consequences for those species, including on their ability to breed and maintain population numbers.
“I believe that there are measures that should be implemented including; rehabilitation of riparian corridors; improved cattle fencing around sensitive habitat; and finalisation of recovery plans for the Australian lungfish.
Whether you are looking for a beautiful Queenslander in Traveston, a hilltop property with views to the ranges, or a large rural land holding our team of local property specialists can help you realise your Noosa Hinterland lifestyle dream.
Sustainable Farms at Ridgewood, Tuchekoi and Traveston;
Reselling some of the land currently owned by State Government can provide a triple bottom line – a win for the environment, a win for the taxpayer and a win for the buyer in that they’ll obtain a lifestyle, an income, superannuation and get to do something for the environment.

On the first point, the environment, examples exist where this has been done this in the immediate region, within a kilometre of the dam site where the owners have turned hobby farms into viable rural enterprises, introduced land care to the situation and had the riparian zones along the creeks returned to native vegetation and where the owners are currently building up the agricultural industry using 21st century farming practices are used to allow the farm to co-exist with enhancing the environment.

The Market; - by Murray Brown
In the Noosa hinterland we’ve turned the corner with much improved sales in the 3rd quarter and all indications point to that trend continuing through summer. We anticipate buoyant sales activity through to December and into 2011. Sellers have adapted to the changed market environment and the properties in this publication demonstrate the excellent value for money now available to property consumers in the Noosa hinterland. Uncertain global conditions are keeping retail investors out of the stock market and this provides stimulus to our boutique lifestyle market. Investors are bringing forward their decision to purchase a property they intend to occupy into the future, so they can enjoy the good life now. As a result we’re finding the market is well and truly alive and subsequently we’re making 2 or 3 sales every week. There’s a good number of properties for sale however we’re still seeing a shortage in supply for specific types of property and this often means that new listings sell quite quickly as we’re able to match those properties to qualified buyers on our data base.
At Hinternoosa we’re of the belief that the future will see even more buyers focused on a desire to live the good life outside the workplace and have a chance to do something completely different, Ridgewood, Tuchekoi and Traveston provide just that opportunity.
Buyer Profile; - by Murray Brown
I have a feeling particularly from our buyers and the local business community that in the main people have come to terms with the crisis. The general uncertainty and lack of confidence has eased and we’re doing business as usual, albeit at a reduced rate. Results from Hinternoosa’s 2010 Auctions would suggest that hinterland buyers and investors are responding to the positive analysis coming from market commentators. Changes to superannuation in the budget present another opportunity. Baby boomers planning for retirement are likely to see the benefit of returning to real estate as an investment that has consistently shown solid growth over a long period of time and come out on top.
Hinternoosa also has specialist experience with larger pastoral and grazing properties, rural holdings and land bank investors.
